The Efficient Breed
Not Just Angus, Aberdeen Angus - Because Less Really Is More
Most modern“Angus” are large framed cattle that have been bred to adapt to grain-finishing. American Aberdeens are a Heritage Breed, and models of efficiency. With Aberdeen cattle, you can expect more pounds of beef per acre, with a 30% improvement in feed efficiency. That translates into about 1/3 less feed, while also producing a higher rib-eye area per hundredweight with remarkable texture, taste, and tenderness. Couple that with exceptionally docile cattle, superior maternal instinct, shorter gestation times, and lower birth weights allowing for easy calving, and soon you discover, less really is more. When evaluated on a per-acre unit of production, smaller cattle have a 20-37 percent advantage over larger cattle. In other words, the American Aberdeen breed focuses on the traditional values that worked for granddad - and are still right for today.

The average registered Angus cow weighs 1,400 lb. If you want to produce replacement heifers that will mature as 1,000 lb cows, without sacrificing muscle and shape - there's only one way to get there - American Aberdeen.
